The first thing you will need to make a good cup of herbal tea is a tea ball, café tier, tea sock or a good old traditional tea strainer! Making herbal tea from whole ingredients will taste much better, be more nourishing to the body and give you greater medicinal benefit than herbs that have been finely ground and sealed inside a bleached teabag. Always use freshly drawn water, filter or purified is preferable to plain old tap water. Depending on how you decide to prepare ‘Creative Nature’s’ healing teas, they can be used either as light, refreshing and tasty beverages with healing benefits or as strong boosters with powerful healing properties. There are no set rules to drinking these herbal teas and we suggest finding your own way. The time you take in preparing these teas is the time your body and mind prepares itself for the healing to come. You really do get out what you put in. Absent mindedly pouring hot water onto a tea bag does not have the same holistic healing benefits as preparing your own brew! Everyone is different but a recommended dosage would be between 3-6 cups per day for healing purposes, or one strong cup per day as a preventive. The Infusion Method To enjoy the subtle benefits of the teas, use 1 to 3 teaspoons per cup. Add boiled water and allow to infuse for up to 10-15 minutes. Infusions can be kept in the refrigerator for 24 hours. The Therapeutic Method This method creates a far more powerful tea and should be the method used when using a blend that contains largely roots, barks and seeds or when treating serious ailments and disease. Add one to three teaspoons per cup, and two cupfuls of water to a saucepan, bring the water to the boil and then simmer for 10-20 minutes depending on how strong you want the brew. You may make more if desired and store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
